NO NEW REGISTRATIONS FROM MONDAY 13TH NOVEMBER

The Red Practice regrets that it is not at present able to register NHS Patients.

This decision has been taken in order to ensure the practice can continue to safely provide NHS services to its currently registered patients.

The practice is not able to maintain a waiting list of patients who would like to register in the future.

Once The Red Practice is able to commence accepting NHS registrations, this information will be available at reception and on the practice website.

If you are not currently registered with an NHS General Practitioner locally, and need to see a doctor or a nurse, you can attend the local Walk-in-Centre in Woking or Ashford.

How to Register

We welcome new patients who live in our practice catchment area. You will be required to complete a registration form and to provide photo ID (either passport or driving licence) as well as proof of address i.e. a recent utility bill or a bank statement.

Please print and complete both forms before coming to the surgery in person with proof of residence and photo ID.

All patients who are registered at the practice can make an appointment to see any of the doctors. However when you register you can indicate who you want your ‘usual doctor’ to be. We suggest that it is better for you to see your ‘usual doctor’ if possible, since this leads to better communication , less duplication and allows the development of a good doctor /patient relationship which is very important. This is particularly true for patients with complex and long standing medical problems. It is also often beneficial for members of the same family to be treated by the same doctor. There are of course situations when you may want to see a doctor of the same sex and this will be accommodated whenever possible. Please be aware that if you request an urgent appointment, you may not always be able to see your ‘usual doctor’.

According to the (2004) GP contract, patients are registered with the practice, but may express their preference for a particular GP.

Please Note: In the event of violent or abusive behaviour by a patient to doctors, nurses, any member of staff or any person present on practice premises, we have the right to remove the patient from the premises. If necessary the police may be involved and we may request immediate removal of the patient from the practice list.
